Free Will
I believe that there is no free will. Most people think that because they think of what they want to do first, that they choose, but I don’t. I didn’t really think of a prompt I want to write about but this just popped out. If we had free will would life really be the same? People do bad things, but people regret. But we keep making the same mistakes. Are we really making mistakes though? This topic is a conundrum of esoterica. Nobody really knows, but no one believes my opinion. What are the chances I came to this school, you picked this as one of the possible prompts I picked this prompt, and you are reading it right now? I believe we are all parts of an experiment for supernatural beings, ad they control us, how we think, and they are the ones who silent the theorists. Like they killed socrates. This is not a random conspiracy, but this is my opinion.
Ethical Philosophy
I want to know about whether being nice is ethically right, or if it is not actually required to go to a good afterlife. Today I will talk assuming we have free will. Most legends say that there are two main ways to go in the afterlife: Heaven and hell, A good place, and a bad place. Some cultures say there are more places like Tartarus and the fields of Asphodel in Greek mythology. To go to this good place do you have to be nice, or average. For example, If someone says hello to you while you’re walking, is it bad to not respond if you will never see them again? It doesn’t hurt you, and you owe them nothing, not even a hello back. If you are very nice, than most cultures say you get great treatment in heaven, but nothing about how you might get treatment in heaven if you go with nothing to show. You don’t have to be good to be considered not bad right? So, being nice isn’t actually actually required. If you are mean, people hate you. If you are nice some people like you, others take advantage of you. If you are average, some people like you, others ignore you. Going into the last column seems pretty ok. I discussed this matter with myself yesterday, and realized I had to get It off my mind since this matter might change my opinion of life all together. I hope someone cares one day, I guess.
The Meaning of Life
The meaning of life as we perceive it is derived from philosophical and religious contemplation of, and scientific inquiries about existence, social ties, consciousness, and happiness. Many other issues are also involved, such as symbolic meaning, ontology, value, purpose, ethics, good and evil, free will, the existence of one or multiple gods, conceptions of God, the soul, and the afterlife. Scientific contributions focus primarily on describing related empirical facts about the universe, exploring the context and parameters concerning the "how" of life. Science also studies and can provide recommendations for the pursuit of well-being and a related conception of morality. An alternative, humanistic approach poses the question, "What is the meaning of my life?"
In my life I want to help people. I have always wanted to become a doctor, but though it would be more practical to try making a business that works with computer science and AI's. In the game Overwatch one character, Echo(she's a robot) was actually the CEO of a company that made AI robots to help people do everyday things and basically be a maid, secretary, and labor worker. She changed the world so much with her creation, and I feel like I want to help so many people that it makes a difference in the world. In the story echo got attacked multiple times, and died to a bomb(her conciousness was stored in one of her robots, she is not dead). That means that doing too much could make you a "target". I don't believe in afterlife, or reincarnation, so I think we should spend our one life doing what we love, spending time with the people we love, and leaving behind as much as we can. leaving a good legacy.
