Before their life starts, teenagers should learn how to live in this world, and decide how they are going to spend it. Taking a year to travel after high school can teach you all kinds of skills before college. You will learn how to stay organized and manage your time and also learn Leadership Skills and being responsible. On top of that, you can learn about so many different cultures and religions, and maybe even decide which one you want to be a part of. Traveling for some time before going to college will teach you organization, responsibility skills, and make sure you’re more aware of how you want to spend your life.

Whenever I travel I make sure to keep everything in a designated location and keep everything in a systematic order to make sure that I get maximum time exploring the place that I am visiting. If you spend a year traveling, you would learn to set up all of your belongings to be used quickly and to avoid wasting time. My room is a mess and organizing what I own would allow me to use what I need easily when I need it instead of scouring around for what I need. Traveling always makes sure you stay organized and will teach you how to stay that way throughout your life.

Traveling makes you have to be on top of things like when you wake up in the morning, how long it should take you to do things and to keep a schedule of when you should do these things. Continuously traveling will build up self-management which will be very important throughout your life. Going with a group could also teach you how to decide on how days trips will plan out with others, and being on top of that schedule will bring up leadership skills. Every time I travel I make a schedule with what I plan to do and where I plan to visit and sticking to the schedules to make sure everything on my bucket list gets checked. It also allows me to go everywhere I want to, learn about the backstory and cultures, and have fun. Ultimately, Going to travel will give you important life long skills that wouldn’t be learned in college

When it comes to traveling, you might go to the Middle East, Greece, Utah, and India which are filled with all kinds of cultures and religions. Getting to travel the world before college will not only teach you geography but about the people of this world and their faith. When you travel you might make the decision of what you truly believe in. Being born an atheist, I was able to travel to Greece, and for almost 4 years after I believed in greek mythology. On top of choosing the religion and culture you want to be a part of, you will be able to advise other people and know how to act and be polite worldwide. What I really mean is traveling could teach you about all kinds of peoples, and let you choose what you believe in.

To sum up, everything that has been stated so far, Taking just a year to travel can teach you so much, and bring you so many new experiences. You could go to Utah and become a Mormon, or all the way to Dubai and become Muslim. You will learn about so many peoples and cultures. You will learn to stay organized for so much saved time. Going with people or without, traveling will teach you lifelong lessons like self-management, time management, and leadership skills. You might think traveling is just a vacation or some way to spend free time, but it’s so much more, it’s an earth-shattering, monumental, life-altering experience.
